Molding into God’s Masterpiece

Molding into God’s Masterpiece

This month I felt led to speak a message of encouragement through a brief video.  My husband and I enjoyed creating this movie and we hope that it will inspire you to grow!

“But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our Potter; we are all the work of your hand”   (Isaiah 64:8).

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms”           (1 Peter 4:10).

What steps are you taking to mold into God’s masterpiece?   How are you engaging your heart, mind, and hands for God?

Love the visual reminder that God created each of us unique and for his purpose. I think one of the best lessons I have learned over the years is no matter what skill, ability or gift we have, it’s more important to be ready and willing to serve at a moments notice. Also, to be open to opportunities where God can use us in ways we might not be able to imagine. Thanks Danielle. Karen

Amen! Thank you, Karen, for adding your thoughts. I agree. May we all remember to encourage one another to use whatever gifts or abilities we may have to serve others!

Elisa, the first time I saw little Joshua play the piano my jaw dropped! He plays the violin with just as much mastery as well. Very talented!

Danielle your heart for God is so beautiful. The last few months God has been working on me stirring up the desire to make a difference in the lives of people he puts in my path. I feel so inadequate and hesitate more often than I should. But God knows what I am capable of. What a blessing to see the little things we do turn into big things for Jesus. Thanks for the encouragement.

    • avatar

Aw, thanks, Audrey. I confess to frequently feeling very unworthy and inadequate. I’m so thankful for my brothers and sisters in Christ who remind me to depend on God and His promises. I admire your decision to pay attention to the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart and your desire to make a difference in other people’s lives. May you remember 2 Corinthians 12:9 as you follow God’s call!

“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Beautiful video, Danielle. And beautiful message. Thank you!

I really appreciate you taking a moment to check out our video, Lacey. Thank you! “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

Thank you for checking out the video my husband and I made, Shannon! “The LORD is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works” (Psalm 145:9).

  14. avatar

Beautiful Danielle, it’s wonderful to see how God is using your gift of words and art along with Josh and his gifts with graphics and expressing life!! Thank you both for using them for God’s glory and to encourage others. I just love the video ~ perfect ending!

    • avatar

Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed watching it, Michele! Josh and I are so grateful for all the positive and kind responses! It truly means a lot to us. 🙂

Love seeing how we are all different, yet molded together through his purpose. Nothing is wasted. We all have been created to create in one form or another and how confirming is it that God gives us peace & fulfillment through doing just that. Our creator created us and he created us in his image, meaning like him we are also are created to create….love this!

    • avatar

Yes! Amen! I love how you further explained it, Cindy. Thank you so much for adding your thoughts and watching the video we felt led to create. May we all encourage one another to develop our creative skills and use it to glorify God!

Very nice and well placed. In watching and listening to this piece, it really brought to mind to remember every day is a new start to do what God has planned for us. Some Days, we may veer from that, but we always have a fresh start. To see this in perspective brings that to mind and helps to establish the joy that will come from it.

    • avatar

I love what you wrote, Matt. Thank you for reminding us to start every day with an eternal perspective. I agree. We will be rewarded with joy when we follow God’s dream for our lives. I’m so thankful for a merciful God who allows us to depend on His strength and creativity each day!

    • avatar

Matt, thanks for chiming in. I definitely agree with you, God is all about fresh starts. There’s never a time He loves us any more than right this moment!

  17. avatar

What a beautiful expression of God’s love and the creative gifts he’s given all of us. I am blessed to know you and to be guided by you both creatively and spiritually! Keep up the great work artistically expressing God’s love and glory.

    • avatar

Aw, thank you, Sunshine! Your sweet and kind words made me smile. I treasure our friendship. Thank you for taking a moment to watch the video we created. God is awesome!

  18. avatar

What a beautiful video articulating God’s amazing artwork in each one of us! He displays His very creativity through each of us-His original designs. I’m so thankful that He views each one of us as a BEAUTIFUL masterpiece made in His image….even when I don’t feel so beautiful myself! Just like in your video, the pottery that was “imperfect” with the piece that fell off was made “whole” and “complete” through the cross. Beautiful example, Danielle!

You and your husband make a WONDERFUL team!

Have a beautiful day, Danielle and thanks so much for sharing your talent with all of us!

    Much love,

    • avatar

You are so sweet, Katie! Thank you so much. My husband and I are still learning to work as a team with the abilities we were given! This was a big project we worked on together. It makes us so happy to know people have enjoyed watching the video. Praise God! Thank you for letting us know! xoxo

Great video, Danielle – very professional! I love how you interspersed God’s creativity with the creativity of His children. It occurred to me that I didn’t really appreciate the arts before becoming a Christian; I really believe followers of Christ appreciate beauty most. I think that’s why we’re so offended by anti-God “art,” it isn’t just because it’s blasphemous, it’s that, like sin, it represents ugliness.

    • avatar

Thanks, Bill! Yes, when art is Spirit led, it appears beautiful! My husband and I worked very hard on this video and I love reading how it’s touching people’s lives and encouraging them to think about the topic. I’m so thankful the Lord helped us each step of the way of filming it. I hope to use the video in some of the classes I teach and inspire others to mold into God’s masterpiece!

This is awesome Danielle and Josh!

Thank you, Susan! I really appreciate you taking a moment to check out my new blog post. Have a blessed day! 🙂

I love the way you’ve boldly broadened your creative process to include artistic video. Well done my friend.

    • avatar

Thank you so much, Diane. I was a little nervous about trying something different. However, I’m so grateful for how the Lord helped us depend on Him for creativity, guidance, and strength during the whole process.

  22. avatar

Nice touch. I like the variety. And who is the little boy on the piano? He is a beast! For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph 2:10

    • avatar

Thanks, Theresa! I agree. The little boy playing the piano is amazing. He’s someone we know from our church. His parents participate in the Mini-church group my husband and I lead. I love Ephesians 2:10. May we all remember to allow God’s hands to transform us into His masterpiece!

  23. avatar

I really loved the video. You and your husband have great talent. I guess I have engaged with God in various ways at different stages of my life. When my children were younger I was helping with the nursery and teaching VBS every summer. I have always been involved with women’s lives through H2H, discipleship and small groups, even one-on-one. I just love being available and see where God places me. I stay in His Word everyday so that I have clear thinking, know truth and am ready to go where He calls me. Talking to Him throughout the day helps me to focus on Him and not just on my own set of problems. I feel blessed and cherish my relationship with Jesus.

Betty, I love the steps you are willing to take to mold into God’s masterpiece. As you engage your heart, mind, and hands for God, He is using you in a mighty way! It’s so wonderful to read how you are growing in your faith and building a more intimate relationship with God. Thank you for motivating us to fix our eyes on Christ and use our gifts to serve Him!

I absolutely loved this video. What a beautiful way to incorporate reminders using children of how, and what we can do for others for the glory of God’s kingdom!!! In a way, it brings a visual down to the adolescent level rather than just incorporating the adults. I also love the effects showing the beauty of nature and all of God’s beautiful creations…. A lovely reminder of how we have so many blessings all around us constantly…

You are both so talented in many ways and I really enjoy this blog. Thank you for continuing to include me. :-).

Looking forward to seeing you both again soon.

    Love and blessings,

Aw, thanks, Josephine. Your kind words really mean a lot to us. We serve a mighty and creative God!! I’m thankful for all the talented children who were willing to be a part of this inspirational video. I’m also very grateful for my talented husband who helped me visually portray the message that was placed on my heart. Thank you for letting me know you enjoy my blog. I hope to see you again soon, too! XOXO
